“Intelligence in a founder is not knowing more,” he says. “It is knowing what to ignore. The market rewards the person who can hold their nerve and say no.”

He spends an enormous share of his time in front of hotel operators two and three decades his senior, listening, then turning what he hears into product direction they did not know they needed. Focus Realm is deliberately small, pre-revenue, and racing toward its first paying hotel before the end of 2026. Leading through that kind of pressure at twenty would rattle most people. Sehej treats it as the point rather than the problem.

He is unapologetic about the standard he sets. The company recruits for restraint, not raw ambition — people who get a thrill from making something simpler rather than bigger. That is a rare kind of person, and Sehej hunts for them personally, because he understands that a leader's most important product is the team.

“I am not trying to be liked,” he says. “I am trying to be trusted. Those are very different jobs, and only one of them builds a company.”
